Coronavirus: Clark, Champaign schools report 71 cases

School districts in Clark and Champaign counties continue to report an increase in new cases of the coronavirus.

Twelve Clark County and two Champaign County school districts reported new cases of COVID-19, according to the Ohio Department of Health’s school district dashboard’s latest update.

In total, 71 student and staff cases were reported between the counties Thursday for the week of Nov. 1-7. Only an increase of one case from the previous week’s total of 70 cases.

There were 64 cases reported in Clark County schools and seven cases reported in Champaign County schools, according to ODH.

The school districts that reported student and staff cases are:

Clark-Shawnee: 12 students

Cliff Park High School: 2 students

Emmanuel Christian Academy: 1 staff

Global Impact STEM Academy: 1 student

Greenon: 2 students

Mechanicsburg: 4 students

Northeastern: 8 students, 2 staff

Northwestern: 7 students

Risen Christ Lutheran School: 2 students, 1 staff

Springfield: 11 students

Springfield Prepatory and Fitness Academy: 2 staff

Springfield-Clark County: 1 student

Tecumseh: 12 students

Urbana: 2 students, 1 staff

Cases reported on the school dashboard lag one week, meaning those reported Thursday were from Nov. 1-7.

The dashboard tracks cases of COVID-19 in all public and private K-12 schools across the state. Data displayed on the board includes all student and staff cases broken into new and cumulative categories. The board is updated Thursdays.
