Coronavirus: Clark, Champaign school district cases jump to over 100

Thirteen Clark County and four Champaign County school districts reported new cases of COVID-19, according to the Ohio Department of Health’s COVID-19 school district dashboard’s latest update.

In total, 128 students and staff cases were reported between the two counties on Thursday, more than double last week’s total of 42 cases recorded from the week of Nov. 24-30.

The school districts that reported student and staff cases are as follow:

Catholic Central: five student, one staff

Clark County Educational Service Center: one staff

Clark-Shawnee: nine student, one staff

Emmanuel Christian: one staff

Global Impact STEM Academy: seven students

Greenon: five students, one staff

Madison-Champaign Educational Service Center: one staff

Mechanicsburg Exempted Village: three student

Northeastern: 16 student, two staff

Northwestern: five student

Risen Christ Lutheran School: one student

Southeastern: three student, five staff

Springfield: 19 student, 17 staff

Springfield CTC: six student

Tecumseh: 10 student, four staff

Triad: two student

Urbana: three student

Cases reported on the dashboard lag one week, meaning cases reported on Thursday were from the week of Dec. 1-7.

The dashboard tracks cases of COVID-19 in all public and private K-12 schools across the state. Data displayed on the board includes all student and staff cases broken into two categories: new and cumulative. The board is updated every Thursday.
