Coronavirus: Clark, Champaign school district cases jump to nearly 200

Twelve Clark County and three Champaign County school districts reported new cases of COVID-19, according to the Ohio Department of Health’s COVID-19 school district dashboard’s latest update.

In total, 198 students and staff cases were reported between the two counties on Thursday, over a 150 case increase from last week’s total of 38 that was recorded from the week of Dec. 29-Jan. 4.

The school districts that reported student and staff cases are as follow:

Clark-Shawnee: six students, three staff

Cliff Park High School: one student

Emmanuel Christian Academy: six students, one staff

Global Impact STEM Academy: three students

Greenon: nine students, five staff

Mechanicsburg: 15 students, six staff

Northeastern: 35 students, eight staff

Northwestern: eight students, four staff

Southeastern: four students, one staff

Springfield Christian: one student

Springfield: 21 students, 10 staff

Springfield CTC: six students

Tecumseh: 14 students, three staff

Urbana: six students

West Liberty-Salem: 14 students, eight staff

Cases reported on the dashboard lag one week, meaning cases reported on Thursday were from the week of Jan. 5-11.

The dashboard tracks cases of COVID-19 in all public and private K-12 schools across the state. Data displayed on the board includes all student and staff cases broken into two categories: new and cumulative. The board is updated every Thursday.
