Coronavirus: Clark, Champaign school district cases drop below 100

Thirteen Clark County and four Champaign County school districts reported new cases of COVID-19, according to the Ohio Department of Health’s COVID-19 school district dashboard’s latest update.

In total, 81 students and staff cases were reported between the two counties on Thursday, a decrease from last week’s total of 144 that was recorded from the week of Jan. 11-18.

The school districts that reported student and staff cases are as follow:

Catholic Central: one student, one staff

Clark County ESC: one staff

Clark-Shawnee: one student, one staff

Emmanuel Christian Academy: four students

Global Impact STEM Academy: five students

Greenon: six students, two staff

Madison-Champaign County ESC: one student

Nightingale Montessori Inc.: one student

Northeastern: 10 students, one staff

Northwestern: three students, one staff

Southeastern: one student

Springfield: 13 students, nine staff

Springfield CTC: three students

Tecumseh: two students, one staff

Triad: two students

Urbana: six students, two staff

West Liberty-Salem: two students, one staff

Cases reported on the dashboard lag one week, meaning cases reported on Thursday were from the week of Jan. 19-25.

The dashboard tracks cases of COVID-19 in all public and private K-12 schools across the state. Data displayed on the board includes all student and staff cases broken into two categories: new and cumulative. The board is updated every Thursday.
