Clark State Community College is ready to help with applications for Ohio’s TechCred Program, in which the school was approved to add over 20 new training programs, according to a release from the school.

The state is now accepting its fifth round of applications for the TechCred funding, which is designed to train workers for in-demand jobs.

Employers must identify the credential or certification and how many employees they plan to train, the release said. The state then reimburses qualifying employers up to $2,000 for training costs and $30,000 total per funding round.

“We are excited to see the continued growth in the TechCred program, including the additional approval of 27 training programs available at Clark State,” said Lesli Beavers, director of workforce and business solutions. “With these new approvals, Clark State now offers 137 TechCred approved programs, including 84 that can be completed online and remote.”

The program credentials are broad and include business technology skills, manufacturing, robotics and preventative maintenance, and IT and cyber security, Beavers said.

“We hope that our business partners continue to see the value in this program and the ability to fund technology training for both the current workforce and new hires,” Beavers said. “This program is truly a win-win, providing businesses support for their own workforce and skills gap barriers and providing individuals with quality credentials that can provide pathways to further certificates and degrees.”

The application deadline is by 3 p.m. on Aug. 31. Applications are available online at https://techcred.ohio.gov.
