Clark County restaurant to feature $6 burger during Burger Week

571 Grill and Draft House in New Carlisle will participate in Dayton Burger Week Tuesday through Saturday.

“It’s a big promotion for people to get out there and try different restaurants and try some of the extraordinary burgers that are in the Dayton dining area,” 571 Grill and Draft House Owner Tim Juday said.

The New Carlisle restaurant is the only Clark County restaurant participating in Dayton Burger Week.

“As restaurants have faced one of the most challenging times in recent history, we want to lift them up and generate additional revenue when they need it most,” Tony Frank, an organizer of Dayton Burger Week and of similar promotions in other cities in the region, said in a release.

Burger “passports” will be available at participating Burger Week locations and online. Diners who score four or more stamps on their passports can enter to win an “ultimate grill-out party” courtesy of the Ohio Beef Council.

571 Grill and Draft House will feature the Haystack as their $6 burger. The Haystack is usually $13.

Juday described the burger as a “Flagship Burger.” It is a combination of blended USDA chuck, brisket and short ribs served on a grilled brioche bun, covered with smoked gouda cheese and applewood smoked bacon and stacked with their 571 sauce, onion straws, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle, he explained.

“That’s been our most popular burger ever since we introduced it,” Juday added.

Since this is the restaurant’s first year participating in Burger Week, Juday said he does not know what to expect. They are planning to increase their burger prep by 25 to 30 percent and have extra product on hand.

In 2017, 571 Grill and Draft House was highlighted on the tourism website Travel Pulse as having the best burgers in the Midwest. The restaurant has also been featured several times on Dayton.com for having extraordinary burgers.

Juday explained that since they have found that burgers are a niche, his profits have increased every year.

“We’re thankful for that. It shows where our strength is, so we’re going to focus on that and go forward with it,” he said.

571 Grill and Draft House, located at 12389 Milton Carlisle Road, is open for dine-in and carryout 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. For more information, visit www.571grill.com.
