“We’re excited to add Michelle Clements-Pitstick to our team at the Clark County Emergency Agency,” Clark County Adminsitor Jenny Hutchinson said. “She’s an effective leader and communicator who we feel will guide our agency and county to new heights in the future.”
The county’s former director, Lisa D’Allessandris, left the position in May after accepting another job outside of the county. Ken Johnson, deputy director of the EMA, has been serving in the position in the interim and will continue at the position until Clements-Pitstick starts.
The county began interviewing candidates for the position in late July.
“We interviewed several strong candidates, but Michelle’s experience working with local agencies amid the COVID-19 pandemic stood out during the interview process,” Hutchinson said.
According to the job listing posted by the county on June 26 about the position, as director of the EMA, Clements-Pitstick will be expected to “supervise, direct and evaluate staff, train staff in operations, policies and procedures, develop, write and maintain all-hazard emergency operations plans,” among other things.
