The Clark County Combined Health District has been awarded $42,000 in federal traffic safety funding by the Ohio Department of Public Safety and Ohio Traffic Safety Office.

The health district will use the funding in 2021 to work with local businesses, schools and law enforcement agencies to educate the community on the proper use of seat belts and the importance of maintaining safe speeds on roadways, a release from the CCCHD said.

Funding from the OTSO was made available by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in order to, “support the efforts of safety partners statewide and focus on traffic safety priority areas such as restraint use, impaired driving, motorcycle safety and youthful driver,” the release said

“Partnerships are crucial to the success of any safety efforts and we are committed to working with community and state partners to address traffic safety concerns in Clark County,” Leslie Stine, Safe Communities Coalition Coordination for Clark County said.
