During the meeting, commissioners will be asked to conduct a second reading and vote on an ordinance that will authorize the city manager to enter into a joint development agreement and hanger rental agreement with Lone Mountain Aircraft.
Two hangers will be leased to the aircraft maintenance company, which also buys and sells aircraft, as it looks to move its operations to the area. The city will also invest $50,000, matching Lone Mountain’s investment, into remodeling those hangers and making improvements.
Lone Mountain is slated to began operations out of the Springfield airport by the middle of the month, said Tom Franzen, the director of economic development for the City of Springfield.
Commissioners will also be asked to approve an ordinance that will allow the city manager to enter into an agreement amendment between the city and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
It is in connection to the first phase of planned reconstruction of several portions of South Yellow Springs Street. Another ordinance focuses on the second phase of the project. The idea is to reflect an increase in construction funds with the addition of Transportation Alternative funds.
The first phase of the project is slated to start in 2023, while the second phase is expected to start in 2024.
There will also be an emergency ordinance to increase Emergency Solutions Grant COVID-19 allocations to the Interfaith Hospitality Network, which provides services to the homeless.
Residents may submit questions ahead of time to be read during the commission meeting.
