Cherish Hospice celebrated its new headquarters location at 1929 E. High St. in Springfield on Tuesday.

Cherish officials said that since 2021, they have served hundreds of patients in Southwest Ohio, with a staff of more than 25 caregivers and a volunteer program.

“This is a great symbol of us, how we’ve grown,” said Jason Casto, administrator for Cherish Hospice. “This is a ribbon cutting event to celebrate our growth and the fact that we plan to remain here in Springfield as a staple.”

Springfield Mayor Rob Rue, Fire Rescue Chief Jacob King and members of the Greater Springfield Partnership attended Tuesday’s event.

Cherish officials say they offer nursing care, alternative therapies, emotional, spiritual and grief support and bereavement care, as well as a We Honor Veterans program, pinning and flag retirement ceremonies and other training programs aimed at veteran caregiving.

Casto said they’ve been in Springfield since 2021, but moved to the new location at the end of October because they needed more space.

“It was very important to move into this new building. As we grow, we need more staff, we had to have more nurses and so forth to meet the needs and the cares of our growing patient list,” he said. “So we can continue serving the community of Springfield better as we grow.”
