It’s less common for public higher education institutions to close for a snow or cold day compared to a regular school district as higher education institutions are not responsible for busing their students to the school.
As of this morning, snow total reports on the National Weather Service website included 5.5 inches in both West Carrollton and southern Centerville. There were multiple reports of over 6 inches of snow in the Cincinnati area, as well as 5.8 inches near Hamilton. The Cincinnati airport, in northern Kentucky, reported 8.4 inches of snowfall.
Public school districts who announced closures today included Oakwood, Centerville, Dayton, Kettering, Beavercreek, Mad River, Springfield, and many more.
