A Springfield woman was critically injured Thursday evening when she was struck by a car on Interstate 70 while trying to retrieve an item that had blown out of her car.
Amy Swyers got out of her car and was struck at 6:15 p.m. in the left westbound lane near state Route 72/South Limestone Street. She was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center and then flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, according to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Springfield Post.
