Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day all weekend in Springfield

Whether your pleasure is green beer, Irish stew or just an excuse to wear something green, everybody can be Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. The area will offer several opportunities to be part of the fun starting on Friday, March 15, and running through Sunday, March 17.

Some venues may charge admission and indicated where available. Following is a selection of events offering St. Patrick’s Day themes.

FRIDAY, MARCH 15

• Mother Stewart’s Brewing Company, 102 W. Columbia St., will have A Celebration of St. Patrick with music starting at 5 p.m. There will be bagpipes by Dave Yarnall at 6, McGovern Irish Dance at 7 and Celtic music by Yarnall at 7:30. Admission is free.

• O’Conners Irish Pub, 2200 N. Limestone St., will start early with its St. Patrick’s Day weekend kickoff at 9 p.m. with Shadowlife performing and a $5 cover.

• Fricker’s, 1616 Upper Valley Pike, will have three days of St. Patrick’s Day activities starting at 11 a.m.

SATURDAY, MARCH 16

• O’Conner’s Irish Pub kicks off a day of music with BlackThorn & Laurel at 10 a.m., The Temps at noon and Full Frontal at 7 p.m. In between there will be bagpipe music, a traditional Irish buffet all day and free giveaways. Cover charge is $10.

• Fricker’s will offer green beer, Irish cocktails and prizes and giveaways starting at 11 a.m..

• Che’s Rustic Lounge, 1150 N. Bechtle Ave., opens at 11 a.m. with food, Killian’s on draft and drink specials.

• Bogey’s at Rocky Lakes, 3950 Springfield Xenia Road, will have a pre-St. Patrick’s Day party at 8 p.m. with classic rockers The Fleez along with Bud Light draft $2 pints and free Irish Stew.

• Union Club, 139 W. High St., will have rockers One Eyed Jack at 8 p.m.

• The Boone Saloon, 3490 Dayton Springfield Road, will have green beer and live music by the Level Ground Band at 8 p.m.

• Buckeye Lodge, 126 W. High St., has a concert from Saving Pluto at 8:30 p.m.

• Mother Stewart’s Brewing Company brings in Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers for a free show at 8:30 p.m.

SUNDAY, MARCH 17

• Chaps Saloon, 2352 Springfield Xenia Road, has its St. Paddy’s Day party starting at 10 a.m. with drink specials.

• Che’s Rustic Lounge, 1150 N. Bechtle Ave., opens at 11 a.m. with food, Killian’s on draft and drink specials.

• Fricker’s continues its weekend festivities with green beer, Irish cocktails and prizes and giveaways starting at 11 a.m.

• Che’s Rustic Lounge, 1150 N. Bechtle Ave., will have food, Killian’s on draft and drink specials starting at noon.

• Kerr Farm Paint and Sip, 2770 Shrine Road, will have a walk-in party with green things to paint, BYOB at noon.

• O’Conner’s Irish Pub opens at 1 p.m. with band Hey There Morgan. Cover charge is $5.

• The Sanctuary Series at High Street United Methodist Church, 230 E. High St., will have a St. Patrick’s Day program featuring the Celtic Harp Ensemble at 3 p.m. Admission is free.

• Union Club will continue its theme with One Eyed Jack at 1 p.m.

• DAV Chapter 13, 2410 Mechanicsburg Road, will open at 4 p.m. and rock band The Distance will play.

• USA Skate Center, 2340 Valley Loop Road, if you wear green, get free skate rental. Admission is $3. The best St. Paddy’s Day outfits will win special prizes, 6-8 p.m.

• Club Panama, 951 James St., will have green goodies and food starting at 6 p.m.
