>> Outdoor drinking in effect in downtown Springfield
It will be from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday at Mother Stewart’s and feature beers from a dozen or so craft breweries and eight bands on indoor and outdoor stages along with five food trucks.
Loftis said the format will be similar to the first MustardFest event last fall that drew a lot of interest, and this is the ideal place to have such an event.

“We’re a hybrid, a neutral place,” he said. “This will be as much about the music.”
Participating breweries will include Warped Wing Brewing Company; Yellow Springs Brewery; Devil Wind Brewing; Carillon Brewing Co.; Branch & Bone Artisan Ales; The Dayton Beer Company; Crooked Handle Brewing Co.; Heavier Than Air Brewing Co.; Eudora Brewing Company; Alematic Artisan Ales; Rolling Mill Brewing Co.; and Hairless Hare Brewery.

The breweries will be set up in the beer garden, and there will be tickets available to sample the breweries’ products.
Bands performing will be Speaking Suns; The Crooked Spines; Lord Kimbo Music; Salvadore Ross; The Story Changes; M Ross Perkins; Once a Pine; and XL427. The evening will conclude with a DJ set up on the third floor of the Hatch.
Loftis points out a key difference IndieCraft will feature other similar fests don’t is there is no admission price, and it’s open to the public. Even if people aren’t interested in the music or different products, they can still enjoy the Friday night atmosphere at Mother’s and enjoy their products.
Loftis sees this as the beginning and Mother Stewart’s will work with Visit Greater Springfield to build an even bigger and better event next year.
“There will be a lot to enjoy,” he said.
