Background and overview
Mike Shaw was born in Springfield and is a 2010 graduate of Shawnee High School. His love for pizza began at the age of 8 when he helped his parents, Dick and Kathy Shaw, at their Fox’s Pizza franchise in Bellefontaine. As a reward for helping them, his parents allowed him to create pizzas and crusts using different ingredients. Mike said he really enjoyed those formative and memorable experiences.
In 2012 Mike was working as a general contractor in the Harding Road area and stopped for lunch at Bada Bing! Pizzeria. He overheard the staff talking about relocating their pizzeria to downtown Springfield. He went home and immediately developed a plan of action for his own pizza establishment to hopefully occupy that space. His plan proved wise, and on July 1, 2015, Mikey’s Pizza opened there on Harding Road in Springfield.
Mikey’s Pizza is a thin crust, St. Louis-style pie. As well as his “famous” pizza options, the owner encourages his customers to craft their own pizza from a large list of toppings; such as natural-casing pepperoni, name-brand sardines and loads of fresh vegetables.

Specialty pizzas: Barn House BBQ, Nana’s Garden Fiesta, Meat X-Plosion or The Cheese Whiz Pizza-$9.95 (10 inch)/$12.95 (12 inch)/$15.95 (14 inch).

Cookies: Chocolate chip cookies that are freshly baked at Mikey’s, then sold in a package of three-$2.95.

Mikey’s Pizza is located in the same strip mall as Harding Pharmacy. There’s plenty of free parking in the adjacent lot on the west side of the building. Also, there’s a cement ramp leading to its corner building.
Mikey’s has seating for 25 patrons. Call ahead to seat a group of eight or more customers.
Discount Tuesday gives every customer a 10 percent discount after 5 p.m.
Military, police, seniors and Wittenberg students each receive a 10 percent discount anytime with a valid ID.
