Johnathon King was still in high school in Macon, Ga., in 2000, when he began working as a laundry attendant, before quickly working himself up to be housekeeper’s supervisor for Choice Hotels.
In 2016, the previous general manager at this Quality Inn and Conference Center in Springfield telephoned King to ask if he could help him out here for a while. He agreed to a short-term relocation. When that man couldn’t return to his position, King took over the duties and was granted the title as general manager at this location.
Roscoe Shellman was then hired by King as head chef. He was a U.S. military chef, and a Wittenberg University chef for years before retiring. He left retirement behind for this position.
Kelly Campbell was the Quality Inn transportation driver. In 2017, he was hired in to be trained by Shellman as sous chef.
