Puddy, the beloved English bulldog owned by Springfield-native John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, has died. He was 9 years old.

The canine, who passed away Wednesday, had been part of the celebrity couple's home since the start of their relationship. Teigen wrote Puddy had been there for every moment of their hectic lifestyle for the past decade.

"He welcomed new pups and loved on new babies and new bellies," she wrote. "He was there for everything."

According to the New York Daily News, Puddy — who was named after a character from the ‘90s sitcom "Seinfeld" — suffered from heart failure due to a tumor in November 2017.

Springfield residents may remember Puddy from when he made an appearance in a fundraiser for the theater renovations in The Dome at the former South High School. In video for the fundraiser, Legend married Puddy and another pooch in an elaborate celebration.

Teigen's Instagram page now features several pictures of Puddy over the years, including a photo from the Springfield fundraiser video.

Puddy is survived by his wife, Pippa.
