Red Barn
This restaurant was a chain that was actually founded in Springfield back in 1961. At its peak, there were between 300-400 restaurants in 19 states across the U.S., some parts of Canada and even Australia. Ultimately, ownership of the company changed hands many times and many of the franchise licenses were allowed to expire. The last Red Barn in the country operates under the name “The Farm” and is in Racine, Wisconsin.
Klosterman’s Derr Road Inn
According to past reviews across many sites, Klosterman’s Derr Road Inn was well-liked for its quiet and relaxing ambience, as well as the great view from certain areas of the dining room. Patrons were also able to feed wild deer from a manger at the location.

Taya’s sentiment of “Bring back Readmore Pizza!” seems to be one a lot of people can get behind. The food and atmosphere was famous among Springfielders and the pizza used to be some of the best in town.
