“On June the 2nd in the year of 2000, a teenage boy got a job as a dishwasher at The Hickory Inn,” the posts reads. “A year later, he was making pizzas and learning to run the grill. Two years after that he became the assistant kitchen manager. Two years later he learned every about the bar and became a full time manager.”
The post goes on to say that Tagg made several other accomplishments during that time, including getting married and having two children.
“As of April 29th, he was just crazy enough to take the biggest leap of all and buy one of Springfield’s oldest, most iconic landmark restaurant, The Hickory Inn,” the post reads.
The post says that while some changes will be made to keep the restaurant up-to-date with current times, much of the restaurant will remain the same.
Although, the post concludes with an announcement that the restaurant will offer a new lunch and dinner menu in the future.
“Be on the lookout for our new lunch menu very soon, and a new dinner menu in the near feature,” the post reads.

The Hickory Inn celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2018, making it, “One of Springfield’s Oldest Restaurants,” according to the former owners Ed and Kim Williamson.
Although pizza is the backbone of the business, The Hickory Inn offers a variety of other cuisines including chicken, pork, ribs, steak, seafood, sandwiches, pasta and more.
