Springfield manufacturer Silfex is hosting a job fair at its facility on Titus Road on Saturday.

The company has pledged to create 400 jobs in the area in recent years and as of last summer had brought on 150 employees, the News-Sun reported.

The job fair this weekend, which will start at 10 a.m. and last until 2 p.m., is looking to fill a number of positions at the company, including machinist, maintenance techs, manufacturing techs, mechanical and process engineers.

Silfex is a silicon crystal growing and manufacturing company, which operates out of Springfield and Eaton. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lam Research and makes silicon ingot and blanks, which are precision components used in semiconductors.

“All of the technology we use each day including cars, cell phones, computers and more, would not be possible without the parts we make at Silfex,” according to a flyer advertising the company’s upcoming job fair.

Applicants are asked to bring two copies of their resume to the job fair.
