Springfield Storage, LLC offers vehicle parking, as well as a variety of different sized units. The new facility features 24 hour gated key card security fences, lighted parking lots and concrete enforced floors for large vehicles, according to Walther.
Walther helped head the construction of the project. He said that the one of the reasons he was excited to work on the property was because it had sat empty for so long.
“The 27 acre site has sat dormant for 25 plus years,” Walther said, “It was just a concrete slab.”

The business came about because Don Wright, owner of Don Wright Realty and Springfield Storage, told Walther to think of something to do with the vacant property, Walther said.
“We wanted to give the community something they could use,” Walther said.
Located at 3000 East Main Street, the property falls right behind a newly constructed Dollar Tree.
Walther said he hopes that customers feel safe when using the storage facility, as it is conveniently located a short distance away from the Clark County Sheriff’s Department.
“We want customers to feel safe coming here and using our units,” Walther said. “If it’s late at night after a trip we want them to feel like they can come anytime.”

The business has 200 lined outdoor parking spaces but they are already filling.
Indoor parking features 50 foot long individually locked units with overhead doors, specifically designed for easy opening and closing. Each unit also features electric service and is fully insulated and vented, which can be helpful when airing out boats after a day on the water.
Walther said Springfield Storage, which officialy opened Feb. 16, is looking to already expand at its current location.
“We have room for three more slabs of parking spots. And we think it’s smart to go ahead and build now before we need them than to have to wait,” Walther said. “We expect to be full by the summer, with everyone parking their boats and traveling.”
