Longtime western Clark County nursery acquired by Franklin business

A longtime family owned and operated nursery in western Clark County has been acquired by a turf supplier based in Franklin.

Henderson Turf Farm out of Franklin acquired Scarff’s Nursery on May 29. The latter, which has been in business for 131 years, operates 540 acres of property just south of New Carlisle.

Scarff’s grows trees, shrubs and evergreens for wholesale and also offers landscaping services. It will continue to provide those services and will keep its original name under its new owners, according to a news release.

Henderson Turf Farm encompasses over 400 acres and serves clients in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. The family owned business focuses on retail and wholesale sod sales, commercial seeding and sodding as well as various erosion control measures for the construction industry.
