Kettering Health Network has expanded its property holdings in the Springfield area after securing a former Kroger’s building earlier this month.

The Kroger's at 2300 N. Limestone St., closed earlier this year before being purchased by AMVO, an Ohio limited-liability company, in September for $2.2 million, according to the Clark County Auditor's Office.

The property was transferred the week of Dec. 4 to Kettering Health and is the second building this year to come into the possession of the hospital network.

It purchased the site of its Springfield Health Center at 2100 Emmanuel Way for $2.5 million in August. The decision came after the health network leased the space for more than a year.

In the months preceding Kettering Health’s decision to purchase that space, a number of specialists as well as services were added to the health center.

However, Kettering Health has yet to announce its intentions regarding the former Kroger building.

Elizabeth Long, a spokeswoman for Kettering Health, said they are still in the planning process.
