Doctor to head Good Sam neurosurgery program

DAYTON — Dr. Scott Glickman, D.O., has been hired to lead what Good Samaritan Hospital plans to make a regional neurosurgery program, the hospital announced in a news release.

The 38-year-old Detroit native joins Good Samaritan from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, where he had been chief resident of neurological surgery since January 2009.

“This position is a tremendous opportunity for me, both professionally and personally,” Glickman said in a prepared statement. “It represents the chance to build a neurosurgery program for the region, from the ground up. Good Samaritan Hospital is investing in technology and innovation for a neuroscience center of excellence. Personally it gives me the chance to move closer to family.”

Glickman will bring inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical treatment options to the area, in addition to traditional surgery, according to the news release.

Glickman joins Dr. Stephen J. Eichert, D.O., who has been in practice in the Dayton region and at Good Samaritan Hospital for several years.
