Patriot Floor Care, a locally-owned firm that offers a variety of floor care services, recently opened a new location at 1216 Santa Monica Ave. in Springfield.
The business officially opened in June as part of Sempro, LLC. The company provides both residential and commercial cleaning services for carpet, tile, concrete and stripping and waxing. The business is owned and operated by experts in hot water extraction cleaning of carpet, tile, wood and upholstery, the method most widely recommended by manufacturers.
Regular cleaning of floors and upholstery will help minimize pollutants and allergens and helps increase the lifespan of floors and furniture, according to information from the company.

New Carlisle
Longtime board member resigns from bank
Steve Grieser resigned his position as director and chairman of the board after about 28 years with New Carlisle Federal Savings Bank. He decided the time was right to enjoy his retirement years. He is also semi-retired from Grieser, Marcum & Associates, CPAs in Springfield.
Grieser is a long-time resident of Clark County. When he joined the bank’s board, total assets were $28 million and the bank had only one office. Now the bank has three locations with assets of nearly $85 million.
Gerald Simonton was elected to succeed Grieser as chairman of the board. He has been a director of New Carlisle Federal for 12 years and is a lifelong resident of Springfield. He recently retired as president of Wallace and Turner Insurance Agency.
Daren Cotter was appointed to the board to fill the vacancy left by Grieser’s resignation. A graduate of Kenton Ridge High School and Wittenberg University, Cotter is the chief financial officer of the Turner Foundation. Local woman presents at national conference
Linda Gatten Butler, president at www.Butler-Consulting.com, recently did a presentation at National Association of Social Workers National Conference in Washington, D.C.
Butler’s presentation was titled “Courage, Hope and Leadership.” With more than 1,800 conference participants, Butler’s presentation was “Grant Seeking: Best Practices and Leadership.”
As the 2014 Social Worker of the Year for Ohio’s Region 7, Butler is celebrating 20 years of fund-raising and administrative consulting for over 200 non-profits nationwide.
One of the keynote speakers was Robert Reich. He is a progressive economist, former Secretary of State for former President Clinton and current professor at Berkley.
