Wife sentenced to prison for murdering husband in their kitchen

A 63-year-old Logan County woman convicted of murdering her husband was given the maximum sentence in court Thursday.

Rosalie Kennedy was sentenced to 15 years to life for murder and three years for a firearm specification. She will have to serve the mandatory 18 years before she is eligible for parole.

Gary Kennedy, 66, was found with a gunshot wound in the couple’s kitchen in March.

Rosalie stated she was innocent and the victim was “my world.”

Tina McFall represented Kennedy during the trial and stated after court an appeal will be filed within the next 30 days.

A 63-year-old woman convicted of killing her husband in the kitchen of their Logan County home earlier this year is set for sentencing this morning, according to court records.

Rosalie Kennedy, of Rushsylvania, was convicted of murder and felonious assault, both with gun specifications, by a jury last month in connection with the shooting death of Gary Kennedy. She faces up to a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the couple's home in the 8000 block of Township Road 110 in Rushsylvania in March on a report of a shooting. When they arrived, Logan County Sheriff Randy Dodds said they found Gary Kennedy dead from a gunshot wound on the kitchen floor.
