Dartayvius J. Grimes, 20, of 276 Eastmoor Drive, has been charged with felonious assault and tampering with evidence. He was placed in the Clark County Jail and is expected to appear in the Clark County Municipal Court this morning.
Officers were called to the 1600 block of East Main Street at about 10:50 p.m. Tuesday night about a 15-year-old who had been struck in the head with a skillet. The teenager had a laceration to the head and was in-and-out of consciousness, the report said.
The victim was planning to stay with his mother and went to his residence on Eastmoor Drive to pick up some belongings, the report said. After returning to the car, the victim was bleeding from the forehead, but the mother did not notice the laceration. When they arrived at his mother’s house, she called medics and the victim was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center.

Grimes told police the victim was calling his grandmother rude names and later hit him in the chest with his shoulder. Grimes and the victim began yelling at each other, which led to a wrestling match in the kitchen. He told police the victim’s head hit the stove, the report said.
Police also noticed a mop with blood on it, cleaning supplies and a skillet soaking in the sink. Grimes allegedly still had blood on several areas of his body and told police he cleaned up the blood from the kitchen.
The victim told police Grimes slammed him into the stove where he fell to the ground. Grimes then allegedly picked up a skillet and hit the victim in the head.
The victim suffered a severe concussion, the report said.
