Springfield family opens party bus business

The party bus business has grown in recent years and a Springfield family has jumped on that trend.

Dean and Amanda Pulfer started Carpe Diem Party Bus after their own personal experience with party buses and knew that Springfield could benefit from the business.

“We used party buses for our bachelor and bachelorette parties and we thought it would be a great thing to have,” said Amanda Pulfer. “We drove past an auction house, saw the bus and we decided to make it happen.”

“Springfield needs it,” said Dean Pulfer. “People can go to a local business instead of somewhere out of town, as well as it promotes a safer way to party. You can worry about having a good time and we will make sure you get to your location safely.”

After purchasing their bus, the husband-and-wife team enlisted help from other members of their family to help get the bus into working party order. This included painting, installing electronics and reupholstering the seats.

Their current bus can accommodate up to 30 people. The bus also includes a custom-built bathroom, color-changing LED lighting, premium music system, a phone charging station, and a SMART TV that can be used for movies, online streaming services and karaoke.

The bus is registered for local and out of state travel.

A unique function of this party bus is the diversification of their business model. Carpe Diem is looking to also attract families.

“The party bus doesn’t have to be just for weddings and birthdays, but for family outings as well,” Amanda Pulfer said. “With all the features inside the bus, this makes traveling to an event with children ideal for them and their parents.”
