5 places to get your noodle fix in Springfield on National Pasta Day

Oct. 17 is National Pasta Day, so it’s time to take your cheat day a little early and load up on some delicious carbs today. Here are five places where you can snag some great eats in and around the Springfield area to celebrate and keep your wallet in tact.

1. Mic’s Restaurant

If you’re looking for huge portions and affordable prices, Mic’s is the place to be. Located at 2384 Mechanicsburg Road in Springfield, Mic’s features more Italian-American fare, and many have said the sauce the restaurant uses is something to be remembered. It also helps that a lot of the menu items come in under $10. The baked ziti comes highly recommended here.

2. Seasons Bistro and Grille

This downtown Springfield location, found at 28 S. Limestone St., never fails to impress with its offerings. The bistro features locally sourced fare and a pasta special that changes daily (penne is on today’s lunch menu). Its prices run a little higher, but the taste is well worth it.

3. Café Paradiso

This cozy little spot, located at 13 Monument Square in downtown Urbana, offers plenty of pasta, along with a lot of Tuscan favorites for those looking for something extra on their pasta odysseys. Tortellini, ravioli and carbonara are only a few of what this restaurant has to offer, and all of them come in under $20 for dinner portions.

4. Olive Garden

The Italian favorite is doing pasta-loving fans a favor by bringing back its Never-Ending Pasta Bowl promotion. Diners can choose from a variety of different dishes featuring classic favorites like spaghetti and meatballs and lasagna to satisfy their Mediterranean cravings. Choices start at $9.99, and of course, come with all the bread sticks you can eat.

5. Bentino’s

This spot, located at 107 Xenia Ave. in Yellow Springs, prides itself as a pizzeria but it still has some pasta offerings that shouldn’t be missed. Carb hounds can choose from spaghetti, lasagna or ravioli to sate themselves.

If you find yourself wanting something more, they offer plenty of other dishes like calzones, gyros and of course, plenty of pizza.
