The Clark County Sheriff’s Office also confirmed they have launched a criminal investigation but no charges have been filed. Clark County Chief Deputy Travis Russell declined further comment.
A court hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 5 to review the protection order request.
The victim claims Yowler on multiple occasions allegedly touched her private areas and forced her to sit on his lap during reading time, the protection order request says.
Yowler didn’t respond to an email seeking comment and a phone number listed in his name was disconnected. The Springfield News-Sun will update this story if it reaches Yowler.
The girl at the center of the allegations is younger than 10, according to the protection order request.

“She also stated another student told her that this had happened to her,” the document says. “She said he has been embarrassing her and making her sad for a long time.”
Yowler was sent a letter by the school on Wednesday informing him he was placed on leave pending the outcome of the protection order request.
The suspension will last either through the Feb. 5 hearing to review the protection order request or at least 10 work days, the letter says, and may be extended.
“During the period of paid administrative suspension, you will continue to receive your current pay and current benefits from the district,” the letter says.
The district also said in a statement sent exclusively to the Springfield News-Sun that it’s conducting its own internal investigation.
While Yowler is on paid leave, the district said he’s not permitted to go onto school property and must remain at his home during the school day.
“You are not permitted to attend any meetings or events associated with your teaching position with the Greenon Local School District,” the letter to Yowler says. “You are to refrain from having any contact and/or communication with any students enrolled in the Greenon Local School District.”
He must also submit lesson plans to the building administrator and must forfeit any property in his possession that belongs to the school.
