Gas prices decrease in the Miami Valley

Gas prices decreased over the last week in Southwest Ohio and the Miami Valley, despite rising prices nationally.

Average retail gas prices in Dayton fell 9.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.31 per gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 391 gas outlets in Dayton.

This compares with the national average that climbed 5.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.34a gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.

According to GasBuddy.com, the average price for a gallon of gas in Dayton is $2.31, with prices stable. The cheapest gas, as of Tuesday morning, is $2.21 at the United Dairy Farmers in Dayton at Harshman Road and Brandt Pike.

In Hamilton, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.33 with prices stable. The cheapest gas is $2.23 at Five Points Market at Grand Boulevard near Tylersville Road.

In Springfield, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.31, with prices stable. The cheapest gas is $2.19 at several locations.
