Springfield police responded to a home in the 1200 block of Imperial Boulevard just after midnight Monday where they say they found Carter passed out.

“The vehicle was running, half on the street and half in the driveway,” a police affidavit says. “Officers … observed Ms. Carter in the driver seat with the keys in the ignition and a child victim in the rear seat of the vehicle.”

Officers were able to pull her from the car to give her aid, the affidavit says. The child victim wasn’t physically harmed and was picked up by the child’s father, police said.
