Police were dispatched to the area at about 5:15 p.m. on a shots fired call that found a victim in a yard. The two gunshot victims had been taken from the area before police and a medic unit arrived, police said.
Springfield Regional Medical Center was locked down for a time because the shooting victims brought there by private conveyance.
Police did find shell casings and the windows shot out of a parked vehicle on West Grand Avenue.
Alan Garza told police he didn’t know where he was or what he was doing when he was shot. He also said he was the front passenger in an unknown vehicle, but didn’t know who else was in it.
