Jerrod Axline, 38, of Urbana, was found with multiple injuries and transported to Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana. Axline and three juveniles met with a group of four other teenagers over a disagreement about money, Urbana police said.
Then bout 8 p.m. April 30, officers were dispatched to a house in the 200 block of South Kenton Street in Urbana on a report of juvenile being hit with a car. Chancellor Derek Miley, 18, denied being struck by the vehicle and refused to cooperate with officers, police said.
He was walking with a group of about 10 men in the 400 block of South Kenton Street. The group was later seen in the 300 block of Hill Street, police said, where they allegedly threatened to harm and shoot at a home and neighborhood.
Police later discovered Miley and the group of men had surrounded a car, allegedly striking the passenger Aaron Reeves, 21, with a large piece of wood and wouldn’t get out of the way, according to police. The driver of the car eventually drove away, striking Miley with his vehicle.
Witnesses also identified Johnathan Terrell Robinson, 18, and a juvenile as the alleged suspects who threatened to shoot the residence, according to Urbana police.
