In March, Topre announced it will make a $55 million investment at the Champion City Business Park in Springfield that will create 85 jobs in a 146,000-square-foot facility.

Multiple tools and other items were reported stolen on Wednesday morning from the Topre America Corp. construction site in the 1000 block of Reaper Avenue in Springfield.

The burglary allegedly occurred between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. An employee told police a small hole was cut into a fence, allowing the unknown suspect to enter the site. The suspect later pried open a window to an office trailer office where several items were allegedly taken, according to a police report.

The suspect allegedly entered three other tool sheds belonging to subcontractors working at the site. Several tools were stolen and trailers were also damaged, the report says.

No suspect information was available and the Springfield Police Division is still investigating the alleged burglary.
