Springfield police officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Sunset Avenue about 8 p.m. March 11 on a report of a man and woman fighting.

Ovando allegedly was intoxicated and fighting with a man, police say in court records, swearing and yelling racial slurs at him.

Officers attempted to move her into another room to calm the situation, according to the court records, and Ovando allegedly grabbed the police officer by the neck and choked him.
