“I located Mr. Reed hiding behind a residence in the 100 block of W. Perrin Avenue and advised him that he was under arrest and to put his hands behind his back,” the police affidavit says. “Mr. Reed quickly jumped back onto his bicycle and fled north on S. Wittenberg Avenue, I gave chase but was unable to keep up with him.”
Reed had several warrants so police decided to pursue him. The officers said they located him again, this time on West State Street, but he was able to flee again.
“Mr. Reed was subsequently apprehended by Officer A. Scott in the 200 block of W. Perrin Ave.,” the affidavit says.
He pleaded not guilty in court Thursday.
