Springfield man robbed at gun point, saws stolen

A Springfield man reported more than $1,200 in saws stolen after he was allegedly robbed at gunpoint on Monday.

The man was in the area of East Auburn Avenue and South Limestone Street at about 8 p.m. Monday evening, showing one of the suspects a chainsaw. The suspect then allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim and told him he was going to take the chainsaw. Another man came over and stole both a chainsaw and an arbor saw, the report said.

The suspects then ran to the Lincoln Park area, but the victim eventually lost sight of them and called police.

No charges have been filed and police are still investigating the incident.
