Police began their investigation when they were called to the tavern on Yellow Springs Street in reference to the shooting on Sept. 29 a little bit after 3 a.m., according to a police affidavit.

“One subject had been shot and sustained non-life threatening injuries,” the affidavit says.

Police watched surveillance which “clearly captured the incident in its entirety,” the affidavit said.

“Corey Ames can be seen clearly brandishing a firearm, which he pulled from a pocket in his sweatshirt,” according to the affidavit. “Mr. Ames then begins discharging the firearm from the east corner of the building, firing in a northwestern direction towards South Yellow Springs Street,” the affidavit continued.

A next court date for Ames has not been set, according to Clark County Court Clerk records.
