Springfield man indicted, accused of bringing heroin into jail

A Springfield man has been indicted after deputies say he attempted to bring heroin into the Clark County Jail.

Deon Ragland, 28, of Springfield is charged with illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specified governmental facility and possession of heroin.

Ragland was pulled over in Springfield Twp. for driving under suspension, according to court records. He was taken to jail on an outstanding warrant for possession of drugs. When deputies searched Ragland in the jail, court records say they allegedly found a bag of heroin on him.

A Clark County Grand Jury also returned the following indictments on Tuesday:

Brian Hayslip, 22: Murder, involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence.

David Louis Crenshaw, 55, 4460 Dayton Road: Failure to appear.

Nathan Russell Nier, 25, 912 Selma Road: Failure to appear.

Loretta S. Adams, 46: Failure to appear.
