Springfield man, 21, charged with felony for sex with 15-year-old

A Springfield man is charged with a felony for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old girl when he was 20.

Julian Gee Jr., now 21, was indicted in Clark County Common Pleas Court on a count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. The charge is a felony in the fourth degree, according to online court records.

The 15-year-old was impregnated, according to an affidavit filed in Clark County Municipal Court.

Springfield police began their investigation on Aug. 2, 2018, when Children Services referred the case to them, according to an affidavit. The 15-year-old was pregnant by a 20-year-old adult, the affidavit says.

“On Aug. 3, (The child) was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center by forensic interviewer Regina Smith,” the affidavit says. “During that interview, (the child) indicated that she had consensual sex with the defendant and that the defendant knew she was 15 because she told him. She indicated that he is the father of the child.”

Messages between the child and Gee were collected as well, the affidavit says, and indicated that Gee knew she was 15.

The baby was born in March, the affidavit says, and DNA evidence proved Gee was the father. A warrant for his arrest was issued on May 13.

Gee could be sentenced to prison for between six to 18 months, if convicted, according to the charging sheet filed in municipal court. He could also be ordered to pay a $5,000 fine.
