DETAILS: Clark County sheriff’s ‘ghost’ unit targets drugs
Carroll and Holder were charged in connection to a shooting where police alleged they attempted to burglarize a home. A bill of particulars filed in the case alleges Carroll and another woman — who has since had the charges against her dropped — scouted the area for Holder and Jesse Auckerman, also from Springfield.
“(The woman) and Lacey Carroll entered the residence under the guise of attempting to purchase marijuana, and once inside the residence conveyed information to Jesse Auckerman and Jayquan Holder regarding what was inside the residence, so as to assist in the commission of an aggravated burglary,” the court document says.
The bill says as the women left the home, Auckerman and Holder made their way to the area.

“At the same time they were leaving, Jesse Auckerman and Jayquan Holder approached the open front door with firearms drawn and pointed at the door and the residents,” the document says.
The residents tried to shut the door, the document says, but Holder fired a shot before the door was closed.
“(A person inside the home) fired a shot back at Auckerman and Holder, who then fled the area,” the document says.
Holder pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary and was sentenced to five years in prison. He also pleaded guilty to a gun stipulation and was sentenced to an extra three years.
Carroll pleaded guilty on Friday to an amended charge of attempted burglary and was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Auckerman also pleaded guilty in connection with the shooting and is due in court for sentencing on Oct. 3.
