A man walked into Rite Aid, 1805 S. Limestone St., and handed a note to the store clerk demanding prescription drugs to avoid anyone getting hurt, according to a police report. The clerk complied, giving the man about five bottles of oxycodone, the report said. The man then fled on foot.

Springfield Police Division officers searched for a vehicle making its way out of the city with multiple jurisdictions as part of their investigation. Officers were able to locate one of the stolen items, but could not find a suspect.

No charges have been filed because a suspect can’t be identified, the report says.
