Jonathan W. Baughman, 34, has been charged with assault, domestic violence and discharging a firearm into a habitation. He pleaded not guilty in the Clark County Municipal Court on Wednesday. Bond was set at $20,000.
Clark County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to a home in the 6000 block of Garlough Road about a man with a gun at about 8 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, deputies were unable to find the man, but spoke with the victim.
She told deputies Baughman was allegedly lying on the floor intoxicated when she returned home. Baughman allegedly became upset, stole the woman’s phone and went into the bathroom. The woman went into the bathroom to get her phone and was punched by the man multiple times in the nose and mid-section, according to a police report.

Baughman then got dressed and went to the garage to leave in the woman’s vehicle. She followed him into the garage and it led to more fighting, the report said. The woman was able to get her keys and keep Baughman from leaving, but he then allegedly fired about four shots at her vehicle, shooting out the back window and a tire.
Baughman was arrested on Wednesday morning, according to the jail’s website. He was still in jail on Friday morning, the site said.
