Background/overview
Brian O’Neill and his Irish/Scottish family are dedicated to Springfield. His parents Kevin and Linda O’Neill own Paddy’s Pizza & McMurray’s Irish Pub.
Paddy’s Pizza was named after his brother Patrick, and McMurray was the name of a past owner of the Irish Pub. The businesses were well received by the community for a long time at the previous location, when a fire destroyed the popular site in June 2013 and the family was left distraught.
Since his college years at Wittenberg University, Brian was living in a giant old apartment building that his parents also owned. After the fire, insurance complications led the O’Neill family to rebuild the businesses in his colossal converted place. The reopening of Paddy’s Pizza & McMurray’s Irish Pub was in January 2015.
The Wittenberg business major grad is the general manager, and Brian’s wife, Marissa, is the bar manager. The O’Neill family is grateful the worry from the fire is in the past and they can now brag, “We have a very versatile establishment. We can have large groups, private parties and outdoor dining.”
