Scattered showers, thunderstorms possible today; Strong storms possible mid-week

Rain and thunderstorms chances continue for the first half of the week, with strong storms possible Tuesday and Wednesday that could see damaging winds and even a few tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible throghout the day today. Otherwise it will be mostly cloudy with highs around 75 degrees with lows falling into the lower 60s.

Tuesday will start off cloudy with more rain and thunderstorm chances in the afternoon and evening.

Damamging winds and large hail are the primary threats.

Highs will be around 77 with lows around 67 degrees.

Wednesday brings partly sunny skies to start the day, but rain and storms are expected again during the afternoon and evening. Stronger storms are possible, especially in Southwest Ohio and in the Tri-State region.

Large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible. Heavy rain and localized flooding are also concerns, the NWS said.

Temperatures will be in the low 80s Wednesday and drop down into the low 60s overnight.
